The Yorkshire Wolds are one of Yorkshire’s least known landscapes, extending from the Humber estuary to Flamborough Head, with dry grassy valleys, undulating chalk hills, unspoiled villages, delightful market towns and a dramatic coastline.
For the energetic there is the 79-mile walk known as The Yorkshire Wolds Way where you can truly experience the wildlife, quaint villages, market towns and unspoiled landscapes of East Yorkshire which have inspired artists such as David Hockney.
This relatively small part of Yorkshire has such a lot to offer and Bugthorpe Grange is ideally placed for those who simply want to enjoy the natural beauty of the Yorkshire Wolds and yet is within easy reach of numerous national places of interest including the historic City of York, Castle Howard, Sledmere House, Beverley Minister & Hull the 2017 UK City of Culture. The east Yorkshire coast is also within easy reach with the quaint seaside town of Bridlington only 30 miles away.
